Last night I caught up on a little TiVo’d Oprah (I love my Opie!)
I watched an episode featuring Randy Pausch. Randy is expecting to die in the next few months.
Randy is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University. He delivered his famous “Last Lecture” talk for the Oprah audience. The original lecture is available on YouTube and has been downloaded millions of times.
I watched it through tears. It’s funny, moving, and inspirational, not maudlin.
To view the video on the Oprah site, click here. It’s ten minutes long, and worth a watch. It’ll make you appreciate your blessings and hug your family a little tighter tonight.
Thanks, Randy!

Some lessons from Randy Pausch’s last lecture that especially moved me:
1. Brick walls are there for a reason: they let us prove how badly we want things.
2. Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.
3. Never lose the child-like wonder.
4. If we do something which is pioneering, we will get arrows in the back. But at the end of the day, a whole lot of people will have a whole lot of fun.
5. Be good at something; it makes you valuable.
6. If you live your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself, and the dreams will come to you.
Check out the tribute quiz on the lecture at http://www.mystudiyo.com : you can add your own questions at the end of the quiz.

Wow. Thanks you so much for linking to this. It was a wonderful and sweet video to see.
I liked the part about if people don’t push you to do better then they have given up on you.
I also liked that his parents let him drew on his walls. My parents did that too.
